You’re going to have another baby!

Don’t worry — not anytime in the next nine months. Or more. Much, much more.

You ready for the backstory?

First, you should know a little something about me. And this might not come as a huge surprise, especially considering I did live in a geodesic dome all summer and I have other hippie tendencies, but I have kind of a thing for psychics.

I know, it’s SO hippie dippie. Or esoteric or whatever.

I do want to say that while I do partake in tarot card and palm readings, chakra clearings and other spiritual new-agey stuff, I do know that some (or most) things in life need to be taken with a grain of salt and these kinds of practices don’t rule my life or anything.

My kids do that, obv.

But when you find a good psychic or spiritual counselor or alchemist or oracle or whatever you want to call it, it can be quite a cathartic experience.

And this leads me to my psychic reading. A friend turned me onto a local spiritual counselor and psychic, Shawna Allard. And while it wasn’t my first time at the rodeo, I have to admit I felt a little hesitant going into the situation.

Because, honestly, I was kind of expecting something like this:

And instead, I got this:

Isn’t she just the cutest and nicest-looking psychic ever? And she was just as lovely in real life.

I’m not going into all the details about what she said because some things are private, you know what I’m saying? But I will share some of the good stuff, like the baby.

Good god. I think I just broke out into a sweat.

First I want to tell you about how she channels her psychic-ness. She closes her eyes and goes into a deep meditation and when she starts talking it’s in a different voice and it’s like she’s a totally different person. It was fascinating.

She asked me what I wanted to know about and I said, “Work and love. I mean, isn’t that why we all come here?” She laughed, which shows she can get her clairvoyance-on and still maintain a sense of humor. I like that.

Here’s the breakdown:

Things on the work front look good. I didn’t tell her what I do for a living and she didn’t know my last name before I got there but she said that the industry I am in is perfect for me. She also said she kept seeing the color green. Bright green was everywhere and there was money everywhere.

She kept saying, “Money, money, money. You are surrounded by money.” And while that might sound like I’ll be winning the lottery sometime soon, I think she was catching onto the fact that I am the editor of a personal finance blog.

Also? The company’s logo and entire website is green. Like, super green. Weird, right?

Then she went into my love and personal life. Now, you know I’m not going to share a ton about that, but she did know something very private about someone in my life, which was totally shocking.

Like, there is no way she would have known this and it was so specific that there was no way she randomly guessed it. It was eerie.

Then she said that I have done a very good job over the past year of clearing all the junk from my life and building something that is flourishing.

Basically, she compared my life to a garden that had become overgrown with weeds. She said I have pulled all the weeds, pruned all the roses, cleared away the debris and now it’s ready to grow again. I’m not going to lie: That part made me cry a little.

Moving on…. What you’ve all been waiting for: The baby.

She said there is a very good chance that the person I am going to end up with wants a baby and that it is likely I will fulfill this desire. And this is the part where I almost peed my pants/threw up/hyperventilated.

Because when you are fresh off a divorce, raising a 5-year old and an almost 3-year old and trying to climb the corporate ladder, a baby is kind of the last thing on your radar.

She did say that IF (not when — BIG difference) this happens, it wouldn’t be for a while, so don’t worry. Phew!

Finally, she gave me some great advice regarding my current relationships and work environment and I have to say that it has all been really helpful. I left her office feeling a lot more relaxed and hopeful (despite the baby stuff) and there isn’t a doubt in my mind that she has a gift.

Maybe it’s clairvoyance or psychic ability, but whatever it is — it works.

Psychic Shawna offers short and full sessions in-person or over the phone, so even if you just are the tiniest bit curious, you can try it out a short session to see what you think.

Also? Her phone number is 1-800-KNOWING. I just love that.

Even if you don’t believe in psychics, at the very least it will make great dinner party conversation. Or good blog fodder.

Have you ever seen a psychic? Did their predictions come true? Do tell!
