Normally I post a 90s Hottie on Mondays to kick off the week, but something has come up and I have to get it off my chest ASAP.
I’d like to consider myself a fairly positive person, but sometimes I get filled with hate. And you know what? It’s ok to hate sometimes.
Because how can you look at this and not feel anything but complete and utter contempt:
It’s a snake.
No, it’s a cake.
No, it’s a snake cake.
And it makes me want to rip my eyeballs out.
I’m actually feeling a little sick to my stomach right now. No joke.
I saw this picture floating around Facebook and the caption said something like: “How cool is this?”
No dude, it’s not cool. It’s gross. And weird. And creepy. And not to judge, it’s just plain wrong.
You know what’s cool? Being into snakes. Or being into anything. Geeking out is cool. But stooping to this kind of low makes me worried for you. And for the rest of us.
I’m actually having a hard time coming up with an occasion for which this cake would be appropriate. Can you just imagine how this would go over at a child’s birthday party?
Do you think the kids would fight over who gets to eat the head? “I want the piece with the beady red eyeball and bony jaw, Mommy!” *gags*
Although, kudos to the cake artist (or whatever) for making such a realistic depiction of an albino boa constrictor. I mean, seriously. Hats off to you. You should get a job at a wax museum or something.
Ok, thanks for hearing me out on this guys. I just couldn’t hold it in any longer.
What do you think of the snake cake?

I saw it online a few days ago and it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up… and makes me pretty damn queasy. I get why people think its interesting, but I would hope that someone NEVER actually commissions it. Ew.

I read about it on the Huffington Post, and some lady made it FOR HER DAUGHTER\’S BIRTHDAY PARY. Dude.

You know who probably hates this more than you? Mouse lovers.
Just saying.
And yes, completely creeped out and disturbed by this. I think I need to go Google kittens to get this out of my head.
Thanks for that.

Um… I am totally, completely and unfathomably grossed out by this.
The artwork is amazing! I totally agree with your wax museum comment, too.
But if I walked into a party and this was the cake, I would leave. And gag a bit.
Gah! What happened to all the Rainbow Brite and Popples cakes??

Not cool at all!! I don't think I could take one bite. Yuck!!

You know what – I'm not really into snakes, and I'm not really into cakes. They're just not my thing. But you know what I'm really, really into? Snake cakes.
Honestly, I'm as disturbed by this as anyone else . . . I fail to see how this could, possibly, be a good idea. Ever.

This is horrifying…I would die before eating this cake. Yuckkk.

grossest thing ever. but i suspect my boys would look at it and say "coooooooool! mom, can we have one pleeeeese?"
then again, they think happy meals actually taste good.

I really don't see what the big deal is. Yeah, it's gross because it's crazy realistic. But… wrong? Like, morally wrong? Whatever, man. It's a cake that looks like a snake. Big fucking deal, haha. I don't think the mother who chose the cake is "fucked in the head," that's a little much.

Wrong because eating an incredibly realistic snake cake is gross. If you have read this blog for more than five minutes then you would know morality doesn't really have a place here. And gross = wrong because I make the rules on this little 'ol blog 'o mine. Thanks for the comment!

Um, it's a cake. If you people have the extra energy and extra time in your day to get all bent out of shape over a cake, then good for you. But seriously. It's a cake. Chill out.

For people who love snakes, are into snakes and don't mind a totally unique and reflective cake of their passion for snakes, I just don't see anything wrong with this.
I understand how you could feel dislike, but hate? Well to each his own, that is fine! I would say anyone who truly hates this probably has a phobia. Only guessing.
Anyway, I think it's a remarkable work of art as far as realism.

I have to say I'm in absolute awe of how that was done.
Then again, I'm not crafty or bake-ry, so I get excited over macrame pot holders or chocolate chip cookies.

That is just not right. But yeah, kudos to the talent that pulled it off. I think I don't want cake for a while…

Eeeeek! So real and so scary! Some little boys (my nephew included) may think it's cool. But I'm sure his party guests would not.
