I’ve been slowly working on decorating my house. Let’s just ignore the fact that we bought our house almost five years ago, ok? Well, there’s no time like the present and I’m kicking it into gear over here at The Little Hen House.
Those of you who follow me on Twitter or Facebook, may have noticed a little obsession I have with Instagram. It’s kind of a Twitter/Facebook hybrid, where you upload photos and add cool filters to them, which basically makes anyone look like a kick ass photographer.
Don’t tell anyone, but one of my freelance writing jobs requires me to take my own high quality photos, and I totally use my Instagram pics on their site all the time. Shhhhhhh!
Another thing you may have noticed is that I like to post collages up here from time to time. And you guessed it- those are all Instagram pics. Here’s one of my favorite collages from our recent trip to The San Juan Islands:
Now check this out:
It’s me, holding up a canvas that has the same Instagram collage printed on it!
(PS: That is an Instagram pic of me holding my Instagram pics. Try to wrap your mind around that one.)
I made the collage on my favorite free photo editing program- Photobucket. It’s very simple to do. All you have to do is email yourself your Instagram photos from your iPhone, save them to your desktop and then upload them to Photobucket. Click “create collage” and then watch the magic happen. It’s ridiculously easy.
I ordered this canvas from Easy Canvas Prints and they have a ton of sizes to choose from. I like the square because well, I just do. Plus, the collage is square, so it just made sense. It was really easy to navigate the site and I am more than impressed with how the final product turned out.
My main goal is to print out a small collection of three or four Instagram collages onto canvas prints and hang them all together. It’s an effortless way to add a stylish touch to any room. I even think a row of the canvas prints down a hallway would look great too. Or maybe a few small ones in a bathroom, or a huge one hanging above a couch….. The possibilities are endless!
Now for the exciting part:
One lucky reader is going to get a FREE canvas from Easy Canvas Prints!
